Business Manager Position Available

Applications are no longer being accepted as of 2/16/09.

Communities Magazine seeks a dynamic, responsible, detail-oriented, and collaborative Business Manager to maintain relationships with distributors, advertisers, vendors, subscribers, and the general public. The Business Manager is responsible for advertising sales, marketing, distribution, and financial management. S/he will work closely with a small production staff and the Board of Directors.

The magazine staff is distributed all over the United States. Your location is unimportant, but a high-speed internet connection with basic office software is required.

Since 1972, Communities has been the primary resource for information, issues, and ideas about intentional communities in North America--from urban co-ops to cohousing groups to ecovillages to rural communes--with coverage of international communities as well. The 80-page quarterly is focusing increasingly on cohousing communities and aspiring ecovillages, as those are two of the fastest-growing kinds of communities today. Articles and columns cover practical "how-to" issues of community living as well as personal stories about forming new communities, decision-making, conflict resolution, raising children in community, sustainability, and much more.

The Business Manager is a part-time contract position.
