2012 May 16 to May 22 Dance & Sing Festival (Steyerberg, Lower Saxony, Germany) Two members of Findhorn Foundation: Laura Shannon and Barbara Swetina and one from Lebensgarten Ecovillage: Declan Kennedy, will lead the dancing and the singing for 4 days in May in the wonderful setting of Lebensgarten Steyerberg in northern Germany. Instruction will be in German and in English - the songs we will sing in many languages. We will do rituals from many traditions both inside in our spacious studio and outside, weather permitting. August 5th-25th: Hybrid Sauna Construction with James Haim
During this three week apprenticeship program you will construct a sauna and, time permitting, a cob oven, from start to finish. As part of this program you will learn the basics of making a foundation, building four different wall systems with materials including cob, straw bale, light-straw-clay and cob-cordwood, and constructing a living roof. In addition you will learn earthen plastering techniques, tour a variety of beautiful natural buildings, spend time designing your own projects and enjoy the many recreational and cultural opportunities the Rogue Valley has to offer.
Participants will camp on-site and be served three organic meals six days a week with one day off each week. Participants will finish their stay with a one-day rafting trip on the scenic Rogue River. In order to provide the highest quality teaching this apprenticeship is limited to four August 13 to August 19 Integral Community Seminar "Evolving the We" (Loveland, Colorado, United States) This seminar will explore what it takes in each of us to be present to and to contribute to an authentic integral collective. The course begins by exploring the science behind climate change, including an exploration of the climate system, the causes of global warming, climate modeling, and climate forecasting. The course then transitions to a general presentation of mitigation, adaptation and policy.
