Community Living at MapleWood posted 6/4/2012 Are you interested in living close to the land with other ecologically sensitive individuals? We are looking for individuals or couples (kids are fine) to complement our small, supportive, well-educated and innovative community.
Together, we take time for collective discussion, solution-based problem solving, and shared decision-making. In addition to a strong work ethic, we know how to have fun and enjoy a supportive environment that is conducive to personal learning and mentorship. Members of the community also help cover a share of living expenses and food that is not grown on site.
Our community farm rests on 20 acres of agricultural and forest land in the Siskiyou Mountains of Southern Oregon. Fifty fruit and nut saplings grow on the warm southwest-facing hillside and preserve the natural beauty of the homestead. This spectacular setting offers a variety of outdoor pursuits including; camping, hiking, white water sports, and fishing.
Much of the farm infrastructure has been put in place including: deer fencing and a greenhouse. We are also well resourced with cultivation equipment (incl. trucks, tractors, tillers, broad forks).
Let's discover innovative and beautiful ways to live together with the land. Perhaps you have skills to share, maybe a love of botanicals, music, cooking, natural building methods, live-stock or bee keeping?
If interested in exploring further, we look forward to hearing from you!
