Looking for a housemate to rent/barter a spacious room in a contemporary green home in a quiet rural setting about 30 min. from Portsmouth and Manchester, and 1 hr. 20 min. from Boston. Room includes a loft and adjacent bath and has plenty of natural light. Views in all directions are of forests; surroundings are peaceful and quiet except for bird calls. A 5,000 acre state park is across the street with hiking trails and a lake for swimming or kayaking. Yard has a large organic garden, permaculture landscape that is a work in progress, and a labyrinth. House has a dishwasher, wireless internet, laundry, and wood stove. House is shared with the owner (a female sustainability consultant) and a small dog. Seeking a more community-oriented way of living. Willing to barter some rent for someone who can help with the gardens, upkeep/maintenance, and/or dog sitting. Also seeking to create another space to host artist, writers or anyone needing a quiet retreat place regularly (and could use help with this.) Looking for a person who is holistically-oriented, non-smoker, trustworthy and reliable…comfortable with stillness and interest in a spiritual path is a plus. Room is available furnished or unfurnished. Rent is negotiable depending on barter arrangements.
