Digital Art

Send your digital art to layout [-@-] ic.org

We prefer digital artwork sent as a PDF file. Second choice is a non-compressed TIFF format. Third choice is either (1) Adobe Photoshop 5.5 or earlier EPS format, (2) Adobe Illustrator 8.0 for Mac, or (3) Quark Xpress 4.1 (or earlier) for Mac. For any formats not PDF or TIFF, you must include all of the fonts in the artwork, both screen and postscript. Any images present in the artwork must be sent as an independent file, for Illustrator or Quark. Photos or graphics with any gray in them must be 300 dpi. Photos and images that are only type and black and white line art, should be 1200 dpi (or at least 900 dpi).

Non-digital Production Requirements

We prefer not to use camera-ready hard copy. However, we will accept it at the exact ad size and printed out with a laser printer on glossy paper. If you are going to mail us hard copy, please let John Stroup know at ads[-@-]ic.org or 573-468-8822.

All ads must have some graphic element or photo. We do not accept ads that are all type. Our design staff can help you create your ad for an hourly rate of $28.

Discounts: Ad agency discounts: l5% when accompanied by prepayment, FIC members: 5% discount (prepayment required). Call or write for discounts for multiple/consecutive insertions.

Terms: Established agencies - Net 30 Days. All others, payment must accompany the advertisement. Make check or money order payable in US funds to Communities magazine.

Let the ad manager, John Stroup, know by email at ads[at]ic.org which ad contract you intend to take out. She will send you a contract by mail, so please include your mailing address. All first time advertisers must prepay. We appreciate prepayment from all our advertisers, but we will also bill regular advertisers when the issue comes out, if this is your desire.

Communities accepts advertising only for goods and services that we feel will be of value to our readers. We reserve the left to refuse or cancel any advertising for any reason at any time.
